By the time of his death, Andrew Carnegie had distributed $350 million of his fortune but still had $30 million remaining, which went into the Carnegie Corporation’s endowment, according to the American Library Association. Carnegie believed in the “Gospel of Wealth,” a philosophy that wealthy individuals are morally obligated to use their wealth for the greater good of society.

The Bible emphasizes the value of giving and assures that generosity will not be in vain. Proverbs 19:17 states, “Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.” This timeless truth reinforces that giving to others aligns with divine principles.
Another verse, Matthew 6:19-21, reminds us not to place our hope in material wealth:
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
